Niederau
The congenial resort of Niederau lies in the striking Wildschönau valley and is the ideal resort for beginners and families. It is the first and largest resort in the valley with long, interesting runs through beautiful terrain, and is situated amongst historic and picturesque farm houses. This is most suited to families who are keen to incorporate relaxation time along with time on the slopes.
Beginners

This resort is ideally suited to beginners, due to a high standard of instructors and a wide variety of runs. The ski area is the perfect confidence-building resort for novice and second to third year skiers. The beautifully untouched Alpine setting is the perfect location and the ski schools have an excellent reputation.
Intermediates

As with beginners, there are plenty of challenging runs for the intermediate skier too. Try the long Märchenwiesen red run back into the valley or take the free ski lift for a day out in Auffach and a wide choice of reds. If you are looking for a challenge attempt the Gipfel black run down from 1600m at the Lanerköpfl.
Advanced

Although better suited to beginner and intermediate skiers, Niederau can still offer the advanced skier some exciting off-piste experiences. Try the black ski routes down from Markbachjoch or hire a local guide from the ski school for the day to really find your way around.
Snowboarding

Niederau is a great place to learn to board with gentle blues and excellent tuition. For competent boarders there is a big fun park in Auffach with rails, a 90m long half pipe, pro-jump and more. You can also try the Race 'n' Boarder Arena in Niederau. Used by the Austrian National Ski Team you'll find a carving zone, boarder cross and slalom lane!
