Finkenberg
Finkenberg is a delightful village, set high in the Tux Valley just above Mayrhofen. Home of Leonhard Stock (winner of the gold medal in the Men’s Downhill in the 1980 Lake placid Olympics), if you want a picturesque setting and great skiing with easy access to this whole Zillertal area, then Finkenberg is for you.
Beginners

An ideal area for novices, the nursery slopes are easily accessible and you will soon progress onto gentle blue runs at Hasenmulden, near the top of the Penken Mountain.
Intermediates

The Penken slopes offer plenty of scope for intermediates from long meandering runs to tricky mogul fields, and there is the advantage that you can usually ski right back to the village at the end of the day. The “Super Zillertal Pass” covers the whole Ziller Valley, an intermediate's paradise, with access to Hintertux, one of Austria’s best glaciers.
Advanced

Finkenberg’s north-facing Nordhang runs offer branch off down challenging mogul fields and onto straight schuss runs towards the Mayrhofen side. Try the long and exhilarating Katzenmoos descent or go up the Gerent to tackle the bumps of the Schafskopf.
Snowboarding

Finkenberg is part of the Zillertal valley which puts snowboarders of all standards in a superb situation. The Penkenjoch, above Mayrhofen (direct access from Finkenberg), offers brilliant freeriding with its rocky steeps and trees to snake through. For the jumping side of things there is a fully loaded snowboard park next to the Sun-Jet chair.
